Mike Staplehurst: Community Governor

I have been involved as a governor at Milton since 2004. The first 4 years as a parent governor and now more recently as a community governor.
I have an electronic engineering background but have spent the last 8 years in various program & operations management roles, working in the semiconductor technology industry. More recently running the global sales & marketing operations for a Cambridge business.
Why be a governor? We have three children, two of whom have been through the Milton and our daughter is currently mid way through. As a parent, I wanted in some small way to help support the school in providing the best start possible to their education. It also gives me an opportunity to contribute something back to the community.
