Amanda Scarborough: Parent Governor
Appointed as a Foundation Governor in 2001 and changed to a Parent Governor in 2008.
Previous experience within Youth Work, Training & Development, Recruitment and the national standard Investors in People.
I became a Governor as my work was taking me into the educational sector and I wanted to “put something” back into the community. Initially I served on the Finance and Curriculum committees and moved across to Personnel & Communications when the opportunity arose. I like being involved with recruitment and seeing the differences that staff make following changes made to procedures/polices. Governor visits enable me to observe what goes on in the classroom and see the children progress from their initial Christmas plays in Foundation to the fabulous end of year 6 performances.
